STORM 2.0: Upgraded Everyday Carry Multitool

What Is the Storm 2.0?

The Storm 2.0 is the reworked version of ROXON's Storm, a pliers-based multitool built for everyday carry. It launches October 28, 2026, with 14 upgrades, including a larger D2 steel blade, replaceable wire cutters, break-resistant scissors, a pocket clip, and three new colorways. It keeps what made the original a favorite: real pliers, full-size scissors, and a complete toolkit that stays ready every day, no setup required.

Not every multitool needs to be modular. Some days you don't want to think about which implements to carry. You just want one tool that's already right for almost everything. That's always been the Storm's job, and the Storm 2.0 does it better.

If you own the original Storm, you'll recognize it instantly. Then you'll open the blade.

What's New in Storm 2.0: 14 Upgrades

A bigger blade in D2 steel

The blade is the tool you'll use most, so it got the biggest upgrade. It's now 71 mm long and 2.2 mm thick, up from 64 mm and 1.8 mm, and it's made from D2, a high-carbon tool steel known for holding a sharp edge much longer than the original's 5Cr15MoV. More length means longer, cleaner cuts through boxes and rope. More thickness means a stiffer blade that handles tougher jobs.

Stronger pliers with replaceable cutters

The plier head is now 6.7 mm thick and made with powder injection molding, a process that creates denser, more precise parts than the die-casting used on the original. The wire cutters are now replaceable, so a nicked cutter is a quick swap instead of the end of your tool.

Scissors built to last

The original Storm's full-size scissors were a fan favorite, but the built-in spring could break with heavy use. Storm 2.0 uses a separate, break-resistant spring, so the scissors keep springing open for years.

Tougher steel on every tool

The saw, file, awl, rope cutter, and can opener have all moved from 3Cr13 to harder 5Cr15MoV stainless steel, which holds an edge better and resists wear. Several of them got smarter, too:

  • The saw now has a pointed tip, so you can plunge it straight into drywall to start a cut.
  • The file and awl now lock open, so they won't fold on your fingers under pressure.
  • The awl is longer, so it reaches deeper for punching holes in leather or starting screw holes.
  • The rope cutter is larger, with two cutting edges instead of one.
  • The can opener now doubles as a wire stripper.

A better bit driver

The single Phillips bit is replaced by a 1/4" bit holder with a dual-head S2 steel bit: Phillips on one end, flathead on the other. Standard 1/4" bits fit too, so you can carry whatever bits your projects need.

New: pocket clip and wine foil cutter

The original Storm rode in a belt pouch. Storm 2.0 adds a pocket clip, so it's ready to carry in a jeans pocket like a true everyday tool. We also added a foil cutter next to a redesigned corkscrew, so opening a bottle of wine at dinner or a campsite is quick and clean.

New colors

Storm 2.0 is available in Electric Blue, Lava Orange, and Aqua Blue. A bright tool is a lot easier to find in a dark bag, a cluttered truck, or a pile of leaves at camp.

Why the Storm 2.0 Is a Perfect EDC Tool

A great everyday carry tool has to pass a simple test: is it there, and does it work, when something small goes wrong? The Storm 2.0 is built around that moment.

Fixed tool vs. modular: which should you choose?

ROXON makes both, so here's an honest answer. A modular tool like the Flex is perfect if you like to customize your setup and swap tools for different jobs. A fixed tool like the Storm 2.0 is better if you want everything ready out of the box, with no planning and no parts to keep track of. If you just want one dependable tool that does it all, choose the Storm 2.0.

Who is the Storm 2.0 for?

  • Everyday carriers who want pliers and scissors in one tool.
  • Original Storm owners ready for a sharper, longer-lasting blade.
  • Homeowners and DIYers who want a tool for the kitchen drawer, garage, or truck.
  • Car owners building an emergency kit. The window breaker and rope cutter belong within reach of the driver's seat.
  • Gift givers looking for a practical, colorful gift for the holidays.

What is the difference between the Storm and the Storm 2.0?

The Storm 2.0 upgrades the blade from 5Cr15MoV stainless steel to D2 tool steel for better edge retention, adds three new colorways (Electric Blue, Lava Orange, and Aqua Blue), and reworks a dozen other parts, including thicker pliers, replaceable wire cutters, break-resistant scissors, a locking file and awl, a 1/4" bit holder, a wine foil cutter, and a pocket clip. It keeps the original's pliers, full-size scissors, and complete toolkit.
